love is something integral to the human experience.
from exclaiming ‘omg I love this sandwich, it’s so good!’;
to experiencing profound comfort and bliss when listening to a song that will forever be labeled ‘my favourite song’;
to legally devoting your life to someone;
to creating and forming a new life within this world;
whatever it is that urges us to define these emotions and experiences with the word ‘love’ is unknown – yet, certainly beautiful. this is what makes us us.
experiencing love in any form feels as though it is one of the purest forms of humanity that offers unbridled joy and solace.
we often get so involved within our own lives and minds that we disregard the true breadth of the abstract concept. the very nature of the word signifies an incapacity for it to have a sole meaning alongside it.
this is what makes the notion so remarkable and earnest.
it is a certainty that we will experience change in our understandings of love. the slight apprehension to progress through this is fueled by a fear of the known possibilities: heartache, grief, yearning and absence.
but we must recognize that they are merely possibilities and that they are accompanied by others: trust, belonging, joy, faith, merriment and elation.
love can be so many things and i am so very grateful for this!
